The Beaconsfield Community garden is a self-organized community-run space for all people to enjoy nature in the urban setting of East Vancouver. We value food sovereignty, community building, and publicly accessible urban green spaces. Individual garden boxes are tended to by community garden members, though everyone is welcome to participate in community garden events and workshops.
Members can:
Tend to their own garden box throughout the year
Grow, harvest, and eat fruits, vegetables, herbs, ornamental plants, medicinal plants, etc.
Grow, harvest, and eat fruits from the community garden fruit trees and berry bushes
Access a seed library, tools, and books on gardening
Members and non-members can:
Volunteer at the Indigenous 215+ Memorial Garden
Grow, harvest, and eat fruits from the community garden fruit trees and berry bushes with permission from community garden members
Learn gardening skills at work-parties such as tree pruning, composting, and garden box repairs
Watch the daily Vancouver crow commute to and from the Still Creek Roost at sunrise and sunset
Meet other people who are passionate about gardening
